Our name, The Sūmma Sleep Company has meaning as well. The term Sūmma (pronounced Sooma) comes from the philosophy of Alchemy. Alchemy is an ancient belief-system where many believed that they could transform normal materials such as iron and copper into gold. During this process or "work" as it is referred to, one not only experiences the physical transformations they create, but also emotional and spiritual changes within themselves. This process has many steps and one of the final steps in this transformation is Sūmma.
